You may have noticed it when ordering at Fiyo: we tend to ask for something called a Type Number. It is of great importance to make sure you're ordering a product that will fit your appliance. But you may not have the faintest inkling what the type number means or is. So we decided to share some interesting facts for you. To make things easier!
What is a Nameplate?
The Nameplate on your appliance is similar to an ID card for your appliance. You can find important data on it. Besides the Serial and Type Number, you can often find the net weight and climate class. Nameplates or Type Plates are often mounted on the bottom or rear of the appliance and will in many cases look similar to this example:

The Type Number or Model Number consists of (a combination of) letters and/or numbers, sometimes separated by a hyphen (-) or a slash (/). This number should not be confused with the serial number or barcode of the appliance.
Here is how the Type Number is characteristically structured for some of the major brands:
AEG
- PNC code starts with number 91 - Productnummer 9 numbers total.
ATAG
- Differs per appliance.
Bauknecht
- Service number starts with number 85....... 12 numbers total.
Dyson
- Model (e.g.: PH-005), Type (e.g.: L8763LS17), or Code (e.g.: TX54870XT08).
Electrolux
- PNC code starts with number 91 - Product number 9 numbers total.
Etna
- Differs per appliance.
Ignis
- Service number starts with number 85....... 12 numbers total.
Ikea
- Service number starts with number 85....... 12 numbers total.
Liebherr
- Type number with an index number. Or service code starting with 09...... or with 9....
Miele
- Washing machine starts with the letter: W
- Tumble dryer starts with the letter: T
- Cooker hood starts with the letter: D
- Dishwasher starts with the letter: G
- Vacuum cleaner starts with the letter: S
- Oven starts with the letter: H
Novy-Itho
- Starts with a letter D… , E… , HR…
Pelgrim
- Differs per appliance.

- E-number (e.g.: VSX11800/01).
