Briggs & Stratton spare parts

Briggs & Stratton is one of the largest American manufacturers of powerful gasoline engines. According to their own claims, Briggs & Stratton engines power eight out of ten lawn mowers in the USA. The Briggs & Stratton main office is located in Wauwasota, Wisconsin. Briggs & Stratton was founded in 1908 with the intention to produce automobiles. Eventually they even manufactured washing machines. During the Second World War a unique opportunity presented itself when Briggs & Stratton was commissioned to design and manufacture generators for military purposes. They had to be lightweight, which made the Briggs & Stratton engineers focus on using aluminum instead of cast iron (which until then was the common material to use). When the 50's brought a rise in suburb living, with large gardens, the puzzle was complete and Briggs & Stratton focused on producing motorised lawn mowers. Today Briggs & Stratton is one of the largest producers of motors for lawn mowers, karts, lawn care equipment and snowmobiles.
