How To Fix A Dishwasher Cycle That Takes Too Long

How To Fix A Dishwasher That's Cycle Is Too Long

When your dishwasher is running normally, but won't stop or takes an extremely long time, that usually means something is wrong.

Check The Water Heating Cycle

When the water is pumped into the machine, it is heated, During this process, the machine is not running. After this, once the desired temperature has been established, the dishwasher gets to work.

If the water is unable to reach the temperature because the thermostat or heating element is broken, then the cycle can't continue.

By replacing these components, your dishwasher should be able to get back to being your trusty sidekick.

To help the dishwasher heat the water quicker, you can always run the water at the tap defore putting on your dishwasher. Wait until the water is warm and then you can press start, which means your dishwasher will instantly have warmed water to work with.

Check The Timer

Another problem - although a rare one - is that your timer could be broken. Unfortunately, this can't be fixed and therefore will need replacing.

A build up of dirt and grime can also effect your machine. Try removing the filters inside the machine (under the bottom rack) and cleaning them thoroughly. Some machines have sensors in the machine to detect food particles and keep it running.

If your drain hose is clogged or kinked, this also could cause your drain cycle to take a long time, as well as making your dishwasher work a lot harder. Check the vent, and the drain pipe, for any sorts of blockages, allowing your machine to drain properly, without any problems.

To find spare parts compatible with your specific device, you will need the model (type) number. This is usually made up of a combination of numbers and letters and can be found on the type plate which can be located on the inside of the dishwasher door, or all the way at the bottom (under the door, almost on the floor). In our shop, if you search by this number, you will be shown all the parts we have available that are suitable for your machine.
