How To Fix A Dishwasher That Isn't Drying Properly
If your dishwasher is washing its contents perfectly fine, but they’re coming out sopping wet, there could be a few issues that can help solve this:
It could be the fault of the heating element. A malfunctioning heating element won't enable your dishes to be dried properly. To test if this is the cause, make sure the power to your machine is switched off, then check for continuity with a multi-meter. To locate the terminals for the heating element, you should be able to find them beneath the tub and can be accessed by removing the lower panel. It's important to also check the conditions of the wires and terminals, and replace if necessary.
The high limit tmermostat could also be the cause to your troubles. Acting as a safety device that keeps the dishwasher from overheating, it could shut off the heat before your dishs are dry if it is malfunctioning. It can be located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, behind the lower access panel, and can be tested with a multi-meter.
Finally, it could be the fault of the rinse aid (dispensing cap). Without this, the dishes won't be able to shed any water. First, check that the rinse aid chamber is not empty, and if it is not, then inspecting the cap, make sure it is properly fitted and adjusted properly.
To find spare parts compatible with your specific dishwasher, you will need the model (type) number. This is usually made up of a combination of numbers and letters and can be found on the type plate which can be located on the inside of the dishwasher door, or all the way at the bottom (under the door, almost on the floor). In our shop, if you search by this number, you will be shown all the parts we have available that are suitable for your machine. Read here if you're having trouble finding your type number.
